The July Edit

This month, I’m feeling blue – and white!  Trying something a little bit different.  I get lots of questions about some of the products I show on the Friday Fizz, so I rounded up some July faves.

  1. The Bag.  Vince Camuto Orla tote.  It is roomy but not heavy, has a secure snap and really cute pom poms, and comes in a variety of chic patterns.  It was a splurge but worth it.  It is on sale now on some websites.  If you like it and can’t find it, check back for it.  True fact:  I bought mine in January!  #shoppingissues

  1. The Makeup.  Supergoop Glow Screen.  So, this is a splurge.  It’s expensive.  And small.  And yet…it’s a hybrid SPF/primer/highlighter product that just kind of gives you a glow.  It’s clean, cruelty-free, and reef safe.  I love makeup, but I’m actually a minimalist and don’t wear much except moisturizer and mascara.  This product is worth the price, and the hype.  It covers a few bases.  Highly recommended.  The whole line has beautiful packaging as well, which I’m a real sucker for.  #lookingforamiracle

  1. The Jewelry.  J. Crew bracelets.  I get so many compliments on these!  I preordered them in April; they were backordered many times until July.  They are back in stock!!  Love a stack of beads, and the color…like the ocean.  #armcandy

  1. The Drink.  Fishers Island lemonade.  You may have noticed a theme with me.  Bubbly, bubbly, and all that.  But I love this stuff!  It’s delicious and refreshing, portable for the beach bag, and has a nice kick to it.  Plus, cute packaging.  It’s a bit pricey – about $14 for a four-pack, but it contains both whiskey and vodka.  So you’re really getting two for one!  Actually, one of these usually does it for me.  Oh, and Fishers Island is not far from Connecticut by boat, so that counts too!  #reachingwiththatconnection
  1.  The Book PickTo Kill a Mockingbird.  Harper Lee’s masterpiece is a classic for a reason.  There’s no better time than now to reread it (maybe you did or didn’t read it in high school?!).  It could be the English teacher in me, but this book has always resonated.  Don’t feel like doing the heavy lifting?  Watch the movie instead.  Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch (swoon) is a hero for the ages.  I have an extra copy of the book if anyone wants to borrow, but of course you knew that.  #lovetheclassics
  1. The Polish.  It’s an oldie – ElePhantastic Pink. I love a shrimpy, pinky-orange color in the summer.  It looks great on all skin tones and even better with a tan.  This month, my color is by OPI.   It makes me happy every time I look at my toes!  #partyofpink

  1. The Movie.  Jaws.  What else for July?  #youregonnaneedabiggerboat

I hope you enjoyed these picks.  I have a few more to share before the end of the month.  All opinions are my own and I don’t profit from my recommendations. Clearly I need work on links and layout, so stay with me as I get the hang of this. Send me some comments about content you’d like to see on this blog.  Stay cool, and stay hydrated.  To save water, drink champagne instead.  Cheers!
